Feel Lighter, Heal Faster: Lymphatic Drainage Therapy with Jennifer Strukoff, CLT

Picture
What Is Lymphatic Drainage and How Can It Help?
Think of your lymphatic system as the quiet janitor of your body—sweeping up excess fluid, proteins, and waste that your blood vessels can’t handle. When it’s working well, you probably don’t even notice it. But when it gets sluggish or overwhelmed—thanks to things like surgery, hormone shifts, or chronic conditions like lymphedema and lipedema—you can feel puffy, tired, and just… off.
Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle, hands-on therapy designed to help your body do its natural cleanup job more effectively. It supports your immune system, reduces swelling, and encourages a sense of lightness—both physically and mentally. (Yes, we’re talking about that glorious “my pants fit again” feeling.)
I use Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) techniques based on the Chikly Health Institute method, which means the treatment is ultra-specific, feather-light, and deeply effective. Unlike traditional massage, lymphatic drainage works without pressure—making it ideal for sensitive conditions, post-surgery recovery, or anyone who wants to reduce inflammation and support their wellness from the inside out.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition like lipedema or lymphedema, or you just feel heavy and bloated in your body, this work can help. Gently. Powerfully. And with results that last.

Certified Lymphatic Therapy – In-Clinic and Mobile Services
You don’t need to navigate this alone—and you don’t need to drive across the city feeling swollen and uncomfortable either.
I’m a Certified Lymphatic Therapist (CLT), trained by the Chikly Health Institute, and I specialize in working with people who are dealing with lymphedema, lipedema, post-surgical swelling, and hormone-related inflammation (hello, perimenopause).
You can see me for lymphatic drainage massage at Same Stars Wellness in beautiful Bridgeland, Calgary—or I can come to you. I offer mobile lymphatic therapy throughout Calgary and surrounding areas like Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, Langdon, and Chestermere.
My sessions are:
  • Calm and restorative (this is not a deep tissue battle)
  • Designed for real results (especially when done in a series)
  • Personalized for your condition, goals, and lifestyle
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic diagnosis, or trying to feel less like a human water balloon in the heat—there’s a place for you here.

Is Lymphatic Massage Right for You?
Not sure if lymphatic drainage is what your body needs? Let’s make it simple. If any of the following sound familiar, it might be time to book a session:
✅ You’ve had surgery recently and your swelling is sticking around longer than it should
✅ You’ve been diagnosed with lipedema or lymphedema—or you suspect something just isn’t right
✅ Your legs or feet puff up in the heat (summer socks leaving dents, anyone?)
✅ You feel bloated, sluggish, or like your body is holding onto water
✅ You’re going through perimenopause and feel inflamed, foggy, or off-balance
✅ You’re prepping for a wedding or big event and want to feel lighter, glowier, and more “you”
✅ You’ve had cancer treatment and want gentle support for your lymphatic system
✅ You’re curious about why your pants don’t fit by Friday even though you didn’t change your diet (yep, lymph can be sneaky like that)
If you’re nodding along, you’re not alone. These are exactly the kinds of challenges lymphatic therapy can help with. Gently. Naturally. Effectively.

What to Expect in a Session
First things first: this is not your typical massage. You won’t leave sore, and there’s no elbow digging into your shoulder blade. Lymphatic drainage is slow, gentle, and incredibly precise—because your lymphatic system responds best to light, rhythmic touch.
Here’s how it works:
  • You’ll lie comfortably on the table, fully relaxed (and likely half-asleep by the end)
  • You’ll be comfortable with cozy blankets and careful draping
  • I’ll use slow, delicate hand movements that encourage lymph to move where it needs to go
  • We might focus on one area—like arms, legs, or the belly—or do a full-body reset, depending on your needs
Sessions are usually 30 - 60 minutes, though 60-75 minutes is ideal if we’re working on post-surgical swelling, lipedema, or a full-body series.
Most clients leave feeling lighter, clearer, and a little surprised by how effective such a gentle treatment can be. (Pro tip: drink lots of water after your session—your body will thank you!)

Frequently Asked Questions about Lymphatic Drainage

Q: What is lymphatic drainage massage good for?
A: It helps reduce swelling, improve circulation, ease inflammation, and support the immune system. It’s especially helpful after surgery, during hormone transitions like perimenopause, or for conditions like lymphedema and lipedema.

Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: That depends on your goal. For general wellness, 1–2 sessions a month might be enough. For post-surgery or managing chronic swelling, I often recommend a series of weekly sessions to start. We’ll come up with a plan that works for your body and your schedule.

Q: Can I book a mobile lymphatic massage in Calgary?
A: Yes! I offer mobile appointments in Calgary and surrounding areas like Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, Langdon, and Chestermere. These are perfect if you’re recovering from surgery or just prefer the comfort of home.

Q: What should I do after a lymphatic drainage session?
A: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Your lymphatic system is moving waste out of the body, and water helps it along. You might feel relaxed, sleepy, or even energized. Either way, be gentle with yourself afterward.

Q: Does it hurt?
A: Not at all. Lymphatic drainage uses light, rhythmic movements—it’s often described as calming and meditative. Clients frequently fall asleep during treatment!

Client Feedback & Results
I could talk all day about how powerful lymphatic drainage is—but honestly, my clients say it best:
“After just two sessions, the swelling in my legs went down so much I could wear my boots again. Jennifer is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I finally feel hopeful about managing my lymphedema.”
— Sarah M., Calgary
“I booked with Jennifer after my tummy tuck to help reduce the post-op swelling. Not only did I feel more comfortable right away, but the bruising faded faster than I expected. I wish I’d started sooner!”
— Jess T., Okotoks
“I didn’t even know what the lymphatic system did until Jennifer explained it. Now, I feel clearer, lighter, and less inflamed every time I go. It’s like a reset button for my whole body.”
— Linda K., Airdrie
From surgery recovery to chronic swelling, from lipedema support to that mysterious puffiness that seems to appear out of nowhere—lymphatic therapy has helped so many of my clients feel better in their bodies.
