Can Lymphatic Drainage Help with Fertility? Here’s What You Should Know.

Trying to conceive can feel like you’re doing everything—charting, supplements, appointments… and still wondering, “What else can I do to support my body?”
If you’ve found yourself googling “natural ways to boost fertility,” you’re not alone. One gentle but often overlooked support? Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD).
It may not be the first thing that comes up in a fertility blog, but trust me—it deserves a seat at the table.

Why the Lymphatic System Matters for Fertility
Your lymphatic system plays a behind-the-scenes role in your hormonal health, inflammation levels, immune balance, and circulation—all essential when preparing the body for pregnancy.
But unlike your blood, the lymph doesn’t have a pump. It relies on movement, breath, and manual stimulation to flow well. And when it stagnates (hello stress, desk jobs, or even hormonal shifts), the body can hold on to puffiness, toxins, and inflammation—all things that can affect your overall reproductive health.

How Lymphatic Drainage Can Help
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic treatment that encourages lymph flow throughout your body. Here’s how it may support you if you’re trying to conceive:
💆‍♀️ Improves Pelvic CirculationBetter flow = better function. Lymphatic drainage can help increase circulation in the abdominal and pelvic areas, helping your reproductive organs get the oxygen and nutrients they need.
💛 Supports Hormonal BalanceThe lymphatic system helps your body clear out used-up hormones and metabolic waste, which can be helpful for women navigating irregular cycles or post-birth control symptoms.
😌 Reduces Stress & TensionIf your shoulders are living somewhere up near your ears, you’re not alone. Lymphatic drainage activates your parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s rest-and-digest mode, which helps your whole hormonal system reset.
🌿 Boosts Immune & Detox PathwaysChronic inflammation and sluggish immune function can get in the way of conception. By supporting your lymphatic system, we’re helping your body clear out what it no longer needs—naturally and gently.

Not Just Preconception—Support for Every Stage
Many of my clients who first come in while trying to conceive continue care into pregnancy—because it just feels that good.
Here’s what ongoing support can look like:
  • 🤰 Prenatal Massage: for easing back pain, tension, and general discomfort
  • 🦶 Lymphatic Drainage for Swollen Feet & Legs: common in pregnancy, especially in the later trimesters
  • 🕊️ Emotional Support & Calm: because your nervous system deserves some TLC too
Yes, I offer both in-clinic appointments in Bridgeland at Same Stars Wellness and mobile visits if you'd rather stay in your cozy nest.

You Deserve Gentle, Rooted Support
Whether you’re at the very beginning of your fertility journey, navigating unexplained infertility, or just want to support your body’s natural rhythms--your lymphatic system has your back. And so do I.
Let’s work together to support your body in the most gentle and grounding way possible.

Feeling Puffy in the Heat? Your Lymphatic System Is, Too

7/23/2025

Why summer swelling isn’t just in your imaginationI don’t know about you, but when the weather hits that perfect "standing-outside-feels-like-a-warm-hug-from-a-sweaty-relative" level, my ankles start to feel... well, less like ankles and more like memory foam.
And I see this all the time in clinic.
Summer heat can bring out the best in us—sunshine, lake days, sandals—but it also brings out the puff. Whether you live with lymphedema, lipedema, or you’re just wondering why your rings don’t fit after a dog walk, you’re not alone.
Let’s talk about what’s actually happening in your bodyHeat causes your blood vessels to expand, making it easier for fluid to escape into the surrounding tissues. Your lymphatic system works hard to mop that up—but it can get overwhelmed. Especially if you have lymphedema or a sluggish lymph flow from other reasons (surgery, inflammation, hormone shifts, etc).
And when that mop gets heavy... hello, swelling.
Hello, aching.
Hello, “why do my shoes feel like medieval torture devices?”
What lymphatic drainage can do (besides feel like a spa nap)Lymphatic drainage isn’t just for people with a medical diagnosis. It’s for anyone who wants to help their body move fluid more efficiently and feel a little lighter.
But for my folks with lymphedema or lipedema? Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is one of the most powerful tools we have—especially in the heat.
It:
  • Reduces swelling
  • Softens fibrotic tissue
  • Improves comfort in compression garments
  • Supports better energy and mobility
  • Can make you feel like yourself again
I offer sessions both in-clinic at Same Stars Wellness in Calgary and mobile treatments a few days a week, serving Cochrane, Airdrie, Chestermere, Langdon, Okotoks, and of course, Calgary itself.
“But what if I don’t have lymphedema?”You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from lymphatic support. If you’re dealing with:
  • Summer bloating
  • Puffy eyes after patio season
  • Feeling heavy and tired in the heat
  • Traveling (hello, airplane ankles)
  • Or just curious about trying it...
Come in. Your lymph wants some love too.

Summer Survival Tips for Your LymphWhile I’d love to see you on my table, here are a few simple things you can do today:
☀️ Hydrate more than you think you need toYes, even if you “don’t feel thirsty.” Your lymph relies on water to keep things moving.
The lymphatic system is like your body's internal plumbing. And just like a sink drain gets sluggish without enough water running through it, your lymphatic vessels need adequate hydration to transport lymph fluid efficiently.
When you’re dehydrated, lymph becomes thicker and more stagnant. That means more swelling, more fatigue, and more of that “why-do-my-legs-feel-like-sandbags” feeling.
Aim for small, steady sips all day, not just chugging when you remember. Add a pinch of sea salt or a squeeze of lemon to help your body actually absorb the water (and make it feel a little fancy).
🧊 Cool down smartlyUse cold packs on swollen areas (wrapped in a cloth), or take a quick cool shower. It helps calm inflammation.
🧦 Wear your compression gear, even when it’s hotI know, I know. Compression in summer feels like punishment. But consistent use can prevent that 4 p.m. leg balloon effect. Try cooling sleeves or lighter fabrics when you can.
🛏️ Elevate those limbsTen minutes with your legs up on a wall or propped on pillows can do wonders for draining the day’s buildup.
🚶 Move gently, oftenLymph loves movement. Take a slow stroll in the evening, or do ankle pumps while binge-watching whatever Netflix thinks you’ll like next.

What to Expect at Your First Lymphatic Drainage Treatment (a.k.a. Your “Feel Lighter” Session)

7/19/2025

So you’ve heard about lymphatic drainage and thought, “Wait—there’s a treatment that helps me feel less puffy, more relaxed, and boosts my health at the same time?”
Yes. Yes there is. And you're in the right place.
Whether you’re coming in because you feel sluggish, swollen, or you’re just curious what all the lymph-hype is about, your first session with me is designed to help me get to know you and your goals.
Let’s walk through what actually happens when you come in for your first treatment.

Step One: The “Tell Me Everything” Chat
We start with a quick intake. Nothing scary—just a chat about what’s been going on in your body.
Feeling puffy around your ankles? Waking up with that classic pillow-face? Dealing with long COVID symptoms? Or just want to give your immune system a nudge?
This is where I listen (like, really listen) and start tailoring your session to what you need most.
If you're seeing me at the clinic at Same Stars Wellness in Calgary, we’ll get cozy there.
If I’m coming to you—lucky mobile client!—we’ll make sure your space works for the treatment (I bring everything needed, including the table).

Step Two: Sink Into the Session
This isn’t a deep-tissue massage. It’s more like a gentle, rhythmic technique that follows the natural flow of your lymph system.
And even though it’s light in pressure, it packs a serious punch when it comes to results.
People usually say things like:
  • “Wow, I didn’t expect to feel that relaxed.”
  • “I feel like my body just exhaled.”
  • “Where did my bloating go?!”
Don’t be surprised if you feel a little floaty or mellow after—your nervous system gets a chance to breathe too.

Step Three: Post-Treatment Glow and Tips
After the session, we’ll talk about what you might notice in the next day or two. For example:
💧 You’ll probably be thirstier—your lymph system just got a workout.
💤 You might sleep like a dream.
🚽 And yes, you might pee a bit more as your body clears things out.
Depending on your goals, I’ll give you some simple ideas to keep things flowing (think movement, hydration, and not overdoing it with super-salty snacks).

The Big Picture
If you’re using lymphatic drainage as part of your general health and wellness routine, most people come in every few weeks—or around times when they’re feeling off.
And for those who love structure (hello, planners), we can absolutely set up a custom schedule that supports your body through changing seasons, stress, or travel.

Ready to Book Your “Feel Lighter” Session?

Whether you want to come to the clinic or have me roll in with my mobile setup, I’ve got you. Let’s help your body feel clearer, lighter, and more you.

Still Living with Back Pain? Here’s Your First Step Toward Feeling Better

7/17/2025

Let me guess: you’ve tried a few things already. Maybe stretching videos on YouTube. Maybe some heat packs. Maybe a chair that promised to “fix your spine” (spoiler alert: it didn’t). But your back still nags you by noon—or screams at you by 5pm.
If you’re ready for something that actually works, I’ve got you.

Introducing: The Back Pain Starter Kit
🧘‍♀️ Click here to grab it

This free kit is designed for people who’ve never done yoga (or maybe did once and swore off it after a confusing class with too much chanting and not enough explanation).
Inside, you’ll find:
  • Gentle movement you can do from home
  • Posture cues that make sense
  • A short, realistic practice to help you feel better in your body right away
No bendy-body required. Just clear, calming guidance that meets you right where you are.

Why This Kit Actually WorksYou don’t need to “push through” your pain. You need to understand it—and give your body the tools to change how it moves, breathes, and holds tension.
The Back Pain Starter Kit helps you:
  • Reduce pain by addressing tension patterns, not just symptoms
  • Improve posture without bracing or forcing
  • Start building real awareness of how your back moves (and why that matters)
And here’s the thing: these small shifts? They add up.

Want to Go Deeper?
Once you’ve tried the kit, you might be curious about what else is possible. That’s where my online yoga membership comes in.
You’ll get access to gentle, focused classes that build on the same principles—with options for live Zoom sessions or video on demand.

One Last Thing
Pain changes how you feel about your whole life. But you are not stuck.
With a few good tools and the right kind of support, you can feel better. Lighter. Stronger. More like yourself again.
Start with the Back Pain Starter Kit.
Because this time, you’re not just trying something new—you’re building a path forward.
